How It Works
The free printables that you can create on this site are certificates with two border colors to choose from and four styles including one style where you can design your own. On all of the printable certificates you can add your custom personalization. After you go through our three step process to reach a printable page you can use your browser to print the certificate on your printer.
For details on printing your certificate, please click any "Printing Tips" link.
The three steps to creating your printable certificates are described below. Your certificate can be printed on standard 8-1/2 x 11 paper.
(Move Your Cursor Here To View Photo )
The process begins with Step 1 - Choosing Your Certificate Style
In Step 1, you will have four style choices. They are as follows: Certificate of Recognition, Certificate of Achievement, Certificate of Participation and the fourth choice will allow you to design your own. All four of the style choices will allow you to add your custom personalization. The only change between them is the heading. Samples of the different styles are viewed by moving your cursor over the link which decribes that style. To select a style, just click that link and you will proceed to Step 2.
Step 2 - Choosing Your Border Color
The process for Step 2 is similar to Step 1. You will have two border color choices, blue and gold. When you make this choice you will proceed to Step 3.
Step 3 - Personalize Your Printable Certificates
In Step 3, you can specify the exact writing that will be printed on your certificate. You will be shown a sample photo of the style that you chose and you can use this as a guide. There will be text boxes provided to add your custom information. Any text boxes can be left blank. When you finish filling out the text boxes for your free printable certificate, just click the "Personalize and Proceed To The Printable Page" button. This will create a printable page with your certificate and other information. Then you can print from here.

Printing Tips
After you complete Step 3 and you click the "Personalize and Proceed to the Printable Page" button, you will see the printable page with all of your choices in the proper position to print your certificate. This process works best using Microsoft Internet Explorer as your browser. The first thing you will want to do from here is go to "Print Preview."
To do this either choose "File" on your browser menu or right click your mouse, then select "Print Preview."
If the view of your page in "Print Preview" is showing the page numbers, file name, date or any other information other than your certificate border and your personalization, you will need to turn off the headers and footers. If you have Microsoft Internet Explorer Version 7, there should be an icon in the "Print Preview" area which turns the headers and footers off and on. You will want them off to print your certificates. If you have an older version of Internet Explorer, you will need to go to "Page Setup." In the "Page Setup" area, you need to find the two lines for the headers and footers. These lines will probably contain some random looking letters and symbols which is the coding that states what information is shown on the header and footer. You will need to delete all of the information in these two lines. These two lines must be deleted to remove the header and
footer information from your printout.
TIP: You may want to write this information down before you
delete it. Then if you ever want to print something with the
default header and footer you can just type the letters and
symbols back into the lines you deleted.
While you are in "Page Setup" and/or "Print Preview" you need to make sure that the sheet orientation is in "Landscape" mode. This is very important. Also, check to see that your margins are set to .75 or 3/4". There also may be a setting called "Print Size" or "Change Print Size" which may need to be set at 100%, not "shrink to fit" or anything else. You can adjust this setting lower than 100% if your certificate is getting cut off on the edges or use "shrink to fit".
TIP: Most printers have no problem printing everything
using a 3/4" margin,
however, it is recommended
to print a test sheet and proofread it carefully.
If your free printable certificates still will not print in the proper location on the sheet, you can experiment with the margin settings in "Page
Setup" to move the images around. For example, if you increase the top margin, the images will move closer
to the bottom. Just make sure that you do not cut off any of your personalization.
And finally, if your type on your certificate is getting cut off, but everything else is in the proper position, just go back to the personalization step and alter the text in the text boxes.
